Catching up...

Okay, obviously I'm not the best blogger. I have good intentions, but kids/work/life take priority. Now, I'm in the midst of the busy holiday season. I even had my own family portraits made today by the fabulous Michele Anderson. It was strange being on the other side of things... and not just on the other side of the camera. Obsessing about clothes (seriously obsessing), worrying about the weather, worrying about whether or not my kids will cooperate... it was all stressful!! I can't say the weather was quite what I wanted (hot and HUMID), but the boys did great and they looked pretty cute in their new outfits. I'm sure the final product will be awesome... and honestly, I'm just happy to be in few! (Hopefully, photoshop can hide some of the sweat).

I'm pretty much booked for the remainder of the year. And now, I'm starting a contact list for 2010. If you would like to be included, please let me know. I usually take some time off in January and get things started again in February. The last few months of the year pass SO quickly, the new year will be here before we know it!!

I couldn't post without adding a new photo. I was editing sweet Ella's session tonight and I just LOVE this one. She is so precious and tiny... and all that hair! I think she looks like a little doll. So, so sweet!

Oh and I almost forgot, what do you think of the new layout?

Wow... Three months! I knew it had been awhile since I posted anything new, but I didn't realize it had been that long. I've been getting back into the swing of things, but I'm still taking it slow at this point. My little guys still occupy most of my time, but I've managed to squeeze in a session here and there.

Macie & Megan

Well, I guess I'm officially back... although on a fairly limited basis. My three boys are still keeping me pretty busy, but on Sunday afternoon I had the pleasure of photographing these two little sweethearts. I know their momma is anxious to see a few... so Brandi, I hope these will hold you over for a few days.

{Holden Rhys Jones}

Well, I know this is long overdue, but I just wanted to introduce the newest addition to our family... Holden Rhys Jones. He was born on October 21st at 3:08 pm. He weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long.

He has truly been such a sweet and easy baby... he just goes with the flow. But of course, his older brothers still keep things interesting around here. Right now, we are all getting over our second round of colds. And Holden has already had his first double ear infection. Thankfully, we caught it right away, so he is already doing much better.

Now I've gotten some good practice photographing a newborn. Sadly, he's really not a newborn anymore. Today, I put him in 3 to 6 month pajamas. It all goes too fast!

Well, I'm still here and I'm just wrapping up my last session before the baby comes. I've been meaning to add some images from a few other sessions I've had, but I think at this point, it will have to wait. When I return in the spring, I'm hoping to update my website in a big way so you'll finally see all the great images I've missed along the way.

Back to this sweet family... I've had the pleasure of photographing Clark & Scarlett a couple of times now, but this was our first time to attempt family photos. We only took a few (didn't want to press our luck), but I think they turned out great. They made my job easy! I'm sharing more than normal since I've been such a blog slacker lately. Enjoy!

Update for Clients

Well, I know I've haven't been the best blogger lately, but I do have a good excuse. First, I've been staying pretty busy with clients. But the bigger reason... we are expecting our third baby sometime in October. Our third boy. We are so excited and I can't wait to have someone to photograph who can't run away from me!

I'm planning on doing limited sessions through mid-September, however at this time all my slots are filled. There's also chance I may do Christmas mini-sessions in November, but I'm still trying to see if I can work it out. If you are interested, let me know soon. I think that might help make up my mind if I know how many of you are interested. I would most likely be working again with my friend, Stacia. I would also recommend her for any of you looking for another photographer while I'm unavailable. However, she just had a new baby herself, so I know she's pretty booked up right now.

I'm planning on taking plenty of time off when the baby is born. I get overwhelmed easily, so I think I'm going to need it. I'll probably start taking on limited sessions in the spring. You can always email me at info@sjphotos.net for more information.

I'm not sure if I've ever shared pictures of my two boys on this blog before. I'm sure most of you know this, but my primary focus is being a mommy to these two. Griffin will be 4 next month and Brooks is two and half. They keep me pretty busy!
