{Holden Rhys Jones}

Well, I know this is long overdue, but I just wanted to introduce the newest addition to our family... Holden Rhys Jones. He was born on October 21st at 3:08 pm. He weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long.

He has truly been such a sweet and easy baby... he just goes with the flow. But of course, his older brothers still keep things interesting around here. Right now, we are all getting over our second round of colds. And Holden has already had his first double ear infection. Thankfully, we caught it right away, so he is already doing much better.

Now I've gotten some good practice photographing a newborn. Sadly, he's really not a newborn anymore. Today, I put him in 3 to 6 month pajamas. It all goes too fast!

Well, I'm still here and I'm just wrapping up my last session before the baby comes. I've been meaning to add some images from a few other sessions I've had, but I think at this point, it will have to wait. When I return in the spring, I'm hoping to update my website in a big way so you'll finally see all the great images I've missed along the way.

Back to this sweet family... I've had the pleasure of photographing Clark & Scarlett a couple of times now, but this was our first time to attempt family photos. We only took a few (didn't want to press our luck), but I think they turned out great. They made my job easy! I'm sharing more than normal since I've been such a blog slacker lately. Enjoy!









When our little guy arrives sometime in the next couple of weeks, I'll be sure and share a few pictures with you! So, check back soon... I'm really hoping sooner rather than later!

Update for Clients

Well, I know I've haven't been the best blogger lately, but I do have a good excuse. First, I've been staying pretty busy with clients. But the bigger reason... we are expecting our third baby sometime in October. Our third boy. We are so excited and I can't wait to have someone to photograph who can't run away from me!

I'm planning on doing limited sessions through mid-September, however at this time all my slots are filled. There's also chance I may do Christmas mini-sessions in November, but I'm still trying to see if I can work it out. If you are interested, let me know soon. I think that might help make up my mind if I know how many of you are interested. I would most likely be working again with my friend, Stacia. I would also recommend her for any of you looking for another photographer while I'm unavailable. However, she just had a new baby herself, so I know she's pretty booked up right now.

I'm planning on taking plenty of time off when the baby is born. I get overwhelmed easily, so I think I'm going to need it. I'll probably start taking on limited sessions in the spring. You can always email me at info@sjphotos.net for more information.

I'm not sure if I've ever shared pictures of my two boys on this blog before. I'm sure most of you know this, but my primary focus is being a mommy to these two. Griffin will be 4 next month and Brooks is two and half. They keep me pretty busy!

A Lovely Family...

I feel like I've known Laura for awhile, but we actually met in person for the first time at her session. Laura and her friend Sarah contacted me a while ago about using my photos on their stationery site. I agreed and we've all gotten to know each other through emails and the blog world since then. (Don't just love the blog world... that's how they found me!). Laura and her family were in town for a trip to Sea World, so we squeezed in a session too. It was such a pleasure meeting them. Her boys were just adorable and so cooperative. We had a great time! And in case you are wondering, as soon as their website is up and running, I will definitely share the link with you here.

An actual sneak peek! I've been a little behind on editing lately (well, on everything lately), so I wanted to get these up for their Mama to see. These girls were so much fun! I really enjoyed my time with them and their cousin, Ashton.

Soulographer Workshop

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend a great workshop with Skye Hardwick in Austin. She is an amazing children's photographer and I learned so much. I also got to spend the weekend with a fellow photographer and friend from college, Paige. We had so much fun! We also had the opportunity to do a massive photoshoot with about 18 child models. It was crazy (there were 25 workshop attendees), but well worth it. I was pretty excited about the images I got from the session. Here's a few...

Beck + Briggs

Just wanted to share a few of these two cuties. I always seem to share pics here long after I've shared them with the parents. I know lots of photographers use their blog to show a "sneak preview" before the full gallery is done, but for some reason I'm just not that on the ball. So this session was done back in February. Anyway, they were lots of fun and I enjoyed catching up with their parents. I often ask kids if they can see their favorite character in my camera lens, most of them don't really fall for it... but Beck was really into it. He was sure he saw Thomas. I love a willing subject!
